Our story

The Urban Commune is a collaboration between a group of artists who believe that
art and creativity is good for the soul.

Our aim is to create a safe space for people to be creative whilst taking care of their physical, mental and emotional wellbeing; whether that be through art, painting, networking, yoga, movement, music or just being with other likeminded beings.

We have the use of a fantastic space in Wakefield, thanks to the charity Uthink Creative, who are supporting us in creating our community. If you want to be part of it, join us for one of our events.

Who We Are

2022 - the year The Urban Commune was created!

Its been a whirlwind 4 months, from the bones of an idea, to 37 artists exhibiting their work, a preloved store, a selection of workshops and classes, a creative café, co-worker space, a dedicated performance space, several events and a great team of volunteers!

2023 will be amazing!

But to do what we have planned, we need more volunteers -email info@theurbancommune.co.uk if you'd like to be involved.

This is a community and everyone is welcome to join us to share strengths, passion and experience.
